A while back the question came up here about what "white gas" was. Someone has a sign for sale on Ebay which states that it was a gas without the lead. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40&item=7110723230&rd=1

yup... till gulf came on the scene with a premium grade that had just a touch of lead in it but not enough to gum up the fuel system. in the sixties, other companies would introduce higher grade LEADED marine fuels. anyway... it looks like the second time around for that sign. i believe it hit around 200.00 the last time with the reserve not met.

In the 60's, we used WHITE GAS in the colman latern/stove on camping trips. Now it is easier to buy colman fuel than white gas.
