Please examine the old photo at http://www.thisoldservicestation.com/picinfo.htm and tell me the year of either of the two vehicles and the type of pumps at the station, and last, help me with the pumps' color scheme.

Your pump is shown on page 327 of my Gas Pump Identification book. I also have values for almost 1500 pumps to help you when looking for a pump. Vic's still have copies of my book available if you are interested in one. If you are thinking of putting a air meter outside your pump, I have over 50 for sale, email me. Thanks guys for the info. Jack, I'm in the process of tracking down one of your books now .. btw, I sent you an email yesterday about my Southwest pumps. I'd really like to tie down the year of either of those cars and there's also that question about the paint theme that's on the same page as the station photo. Once again, it's at http://www.thisoldservicestation.com/picinfo.htm

Thanks Larry (and Doc), just about the same time I got your message, I was looking at http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/AmericanMotors/Nash1946-1959.html and had come to a similar conclusion about the Nash. [This message has been edited by JohnT (edited 10-28-2007).]

know nothing much about pumps except note with amusement, many of the responses regarding them are... a reason for personal advertisements
it would appear we have the car in front... 49 hudson, sorted out .. it was one of a number during that era classified as... bath tubs, which also included the highly sought after mercurys
the other fine automobile should be a 1951 ford custom... one of the infamous shoebox nicknamed era fords .. note the new for 51 chrome fendor spear and no external trunk hinges that were... standard on both 49 & 50 shoeboxes .. one of the other very popular classics which tried to share the shoebox title was the 55 chubby or in the more literate world... chevrolet
