Hi. I ran into a good deal on a 1955 banjo style double sided porcelain sign. It is six foot and in almost perfect shape considering its age. I am wondering if anyone would happen to have an idea on its value? I have looked on ebay but never saw one this large. Thanks, Dean

Big signs are always a risky proposition--however 6' Texaco signs on Ebay, which are generally in good to great shape, will run from $400-750. If you get it for around $300 this would be a good deal.

Hey Dean, Welcome to this site! I have seen this sign for $200.00 to $400.00 depending on condition. Keep in mind that this size sign only appeals to those who have the room to display it... thus diluting the value. They are pretty common. If you can get it for under $400-500 and it is in great shape... I'd say "Good Deal" Good Luck

The reason you found none on E-bay is because they don't sell. You can't ship them as its way to costly. If you don't happen to attract a couple people close by, you get no, or just one bid. I've ran nice large signs a few times with a reserve to just try them and only got the $1 starting bid. I later sold them at a large consignment advertising auction and got $300 each. I've seem a lot of large Texaco signs...they probably are as common as the large Standard signs(at least in my area) and $350-$500 max is a realistic value in my opinion.
