Tim , it may happen, I'll talk to Ted and see if he can change his plans for the summer. as it is now, me and big Helga are going to Dixie gas in the spring to visit my friend in Alabama and pick up a nice tokhiem 36-b plus a parts pump, will stop in on Morgan on the way. he don't know it yet. and Larry's flying in to the bash also. maybe I can talk him in to driving . stopping at the 29 palms, guys place. might have to go to Idaho and look for Little calvin.

Hey Northwest Dudes... Count me in! We have talked about doing this before...so lets get it going. How about we meet for breakfast on a Sunday... then go to see a collection or two. There are a lot that I have seen and a lot that I haven't. I know that me, Steve Snow, Paul (flyingausa) would be there.. and I'm sure that we could talk Hubba into getting out of bed early enough to join us... Plus Tim, Craig, Vern...etc. etc. Lets do it. Most have been to my place... I want to see Tim's stuff...plus Paul has an awsome collection of Petro and Soda. I'm thinking we could meet once each quarter.. Any thoughts on this???

Sounds like it could be a plan Ted... If we can get bunch of you guys from California, Idaho, Oregon, etc. up here around the time of the Portland Show... I would be happy to set up a tour of some pretty cool collections. We are only 3 hrs from Portland.

OK guys, how does Sunday, Nov. 16th sound? We could start in the south end with breakfast at The Poodle Dog in Fife (Tim's hangout, great Bloody Mary's) then see Tim's collection & maybe another in the area. Then maybe in Jan. or Feb., meet a little more north & take in a couple more collections (John Clay, are you listening?) Let me know if this works and we'll go from there.

This is great. I just love it. It's what I've been talking about all along organizing. seeing others collection and appreciating the other guys collection. I would like to see all collectors come together and organize with an Association, with a small yearly membership fee for I.D cards and to update them yearly. As a group we could get better rates on insurance for our collections; also with valid number from our membership cards maybe a discount on purchases with vendors at paint supply stores. We could have three groups, but connected. West coast, Mid States, East Coast. "Gas and Oil Collectors Association" Just a thought. Brainfart if you will. We as collectors need some way to keep track of fake stuff. There's so many signs coming in that you don't know if its rare, to where no one's ever seen it before, till the guy puts more out there.
Maybe have a page on Old Gas, in three sections W C, M S, E C, for membership, you get a card, and a number, each year you pay your fees to keep up that page and that number. You get a sticker for your fee and place it on your card to show you paid up, then we can approach the different vendors and ask for group rates above what they would normally give a good customer on a purchase over an amount. Also the fee can pay for the upkeep of the fake page information. I'm just a dumb Okie (prune picker) but it would work if someone with the knowledge set it up. One set of rules for all three groups - working together to Help the Hobby. Any takers????

Frank, cool!!! The Poodle dog is right off I-5, the first Fife exit. I'll try to get Tim to get an exact address. Talked to Rick Snell tonight, he lives a few minutes from Tim. We're more than welcome at his place also. Let's try to get an exact head count & we'll see if we can get there in 2 or 3 cars. Yeah, baby!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fun gas geek time to me...
Is it just the gas geek guys or are gas geek women allowed also? Can't wait for this one. Just let us know what time and we will be there also. Another thought is going out to the Brick yard Resturant on 56th in Tacoma as Nick has gas stuff and great food there also. Just a thought.

Tom, What time are you thinking. You know us old retired guys have trouble getting up too early. If you guys are planning any other stops in the south, you are welcome at my place too. Sounds like a good day. Hope I am up to it by then, I am getting my kidney stones blasted that week also.

Craig, early, man, early!!! I've seen you before 8 o'clock A.M. so I know you can do it! Thought we'd hit Rick's place, then Tim's place & I was hoping you or I could get us an invite to Art Redford's garage. I think that would be enough for one day. Then in a couple months' we could visit your place & maybe John Clay's (hint, hint!) Talked to Tim the man at Bremerton swap meet yesterday & sounds like he's ready to do it (Tim,let me know about your trip to E. Wa.) 8 o'clock at Poodle Dog in Fife on Nov. 16th. See you there!!!!!

Dennis, maybe you could meet at my place, I live a couple blocks from Northgate Mall, maybe we could hook up with Frank and Hubba, and any others coming from the north end at that time.

OK... My bride and I just got back from a weekend at the ocean... and on the way down yesterday morning, we stopped at the "Poodle Dog" in Fife for breakfast. Yummmmm...Great Food!! Chicken Fried Steak, hash browns and eggs smothered with country sausage gravy. I can hardly wait to do it again.
I'll drive on the 16th... and I will have Steve and Hubba with me.
I can carry 3 more. I'm in Lynnwood... so it would be real easy for me to pick up in Bothell (Tom), Kenmore (Dennis) and Northgate (Vern). Let me know.....
