I am going to begin restoration on a G&B 176 soon with the original glass. I am picking it up soon. The pics appear that the glass is very dirty as the pump has been laying around outside for many years. Does anyone have any tip for cleaning this glass? Thanks

I have used 3m polishing compound, same as used in buffing out paint. Apply it with a softer grade of Scotchbrite pad. Then wash with vinegar/water mixture for no streaks.

Thanks to all the advice. Amazingly it washed clean with soap and water. It looks as if it was brand new. No chips, scratches or discoloration. Took me forever to free it from the base of the tank though, whatever that sealant they used was hard to get loose. Thanks again.
