I have been offered this sign. But i'm getting a feeling something fishy is going on. I have never heard or seen this particular piece repop'd and personally I think it's pretty plain for companies to remake also very large.

Here's a picture of the sign offered to me. My main concern is the shape of the inside of the letter "A" and the thickness of the red boarder. What should the measurements be on this piece the seller is saying it's doubled sided as well.

I took a couple better pictures for you. This is the newer one.
Sign is double sided.

Is it just me Kevin or do the insides of the A's look off on the sign I'm being offered?

I don't know about the sides... But, what is with the openings in the letters; especially the "A's"?...

In the first sign, it looks like they were an after thought, or atleast it looks that way to me...

Exactly my thought too. Maybe there is two different versions, one earlier or later than the other with different font? I believe the red boarder is correct just looks a bit bigger since it's not in a frame. It's the font that's throwing me off

I would think the one in the original post is real. Don't know why someone would repo that sign since it is so big.

The A is strange but other than that, Standard made alot of extremelly plain signs. The larger signs I have seen tend to be rather plain.

Maybe a little plain, but still a handsome sign to me.I also doubt a repop would be made of one this large.Different makers probably.

The red border is the same as my two signs of similar size, but of the five various signs I have, none of them have "A"s like that. The "D" looks a bit funny too.

Phoney or Uber-rare sign, take your pick!

I want to thank everyone that has responded so far. Thank you all for posting pictures to help me. I am still trying to figure it out. Maybe this is a rarer version that has different font. I am still assuming the demand to re-pop this sign is low. It's large and pretty simple/plain. I've found one identical in poor condition on a google image search but the link is dead. I was able to save the picture and i've posted it below. I'm curious if anyone has personally seen this version or own's one to help me with my decision.

-Anthony

I'm pretty sure they didn't go to great lengths to artificially age the sign in your final pic and the "A's" are def. the same. If I were into Standard, I think I'd go for it.

Me Three, I think it is now in the Uber-rare category.
