I am looking for a 30" gulf sign that is double sided. I have been to many places and seen larger ones and only one 30" that was in rough shape. My question is what is a good price range for a decent one, not perfect? I am going to iowa gas next week and incase there is one there, I just want to know what to expect to pay. Thanks for any help. I know the larger ones like 42" sell around $4-500.

Well one thing to keep in mind is that there ARE 30" repops and I have personally had my hands on two of the Gulf 30" repros made in NE Ohio. Keep an eye out for those in your search so you do not get burned. Hole placement and over done shelving are the dead giveaways. Best of luck.

Where will the holes be located on a original one? Also won't they be dated on the bottom? Still getting my feet wet on buying.

On the fakes I have handled (both made by the same guy) the holes are at like 1 and 11 position. NO DATES OR MAKERS MARKS. Overly heavy shelving and poor alignment are obvious as well.

Decent(non-minty but nice gloss) 30" out of frame should run $600-700 average at a show, if they want substantially more walk away because these show up regularly. Sometimes you might get lucky and find one for $450-500 with less than perfect gloss. Don't be afraid to try and bundle one with another sign or two. You'll find many dealers can sell 2-3 signs at a better deal than just one.
