I am looking at purchasing a bowser 585 pump. It has all parts needed to redo except the corner trim pieces. The face plates need replaced and some metal work on one side where a hole was made to accommodate a different setup at one time. Overall the condition of the metal is good and straight. What is it worth? No globe or anything with it. It is the core, outside pieces and that is it. No hose, but handle is included. All outside trim pieces will need replaced minus the glass trim. I want to give a fair offer since its a long time friend but don't want to over pay. Thanks

Missing parts costs can really add up. Try to find out from suppliers what parts would cost and if they are available. Not unusual for a higher priced, complete pump to be cheaper in the long run than the pump with missing parts, the new/used parts and the gasoline to go get them or the shipping.

If both doors are present. $400.00-$500.00 between friends for a clean straight pump is fair for both of you. Missing door trim is reproduced and readily available.

Yea, both doors are present. I added up the costs minus paint to make it nice again and its around 450. What are they valued at when restored? That 450 included buying a globe for it also.

Value after restored is in the eyes for the Restoree & the buyer. Being that it's your 1st pump your restorations haven't been established HERE. I've seen some "Restos" where IMO the pump was worth More Before than after!

Golden Rule: Don't sell your first pump... you are going to regret it later! It's like your first girlfriend, you'll remember it forever!
(and it will be expensive & a pain in your @$$)
