Went to visit a friend who has been sorting his collection. Deciding what to sell and what to keep, display, restore. Came across this. Captured these pics.

If you look at this picture of the side panel the paint is starting to flake where the letters are (very top).

That paint won't come off without damaging the original painted surface.

It should come off. With care and natural chemicals I have been surprised what can be undone. Without even trying or knowing what was under layers of what looked like house paint my sandblaster found this on one of my pump doors.

I have Removed Zinc Chromate Spray Paint off of qt cans by applying the stripper to a rag & wiping the can. It all depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
Starting on the worst side, I'd try a Power Washer.
