Picked up an unusual sign that I've not seen in the past.I found an old station in Indiana that has been preserved but no signage.Anyone familiar with the brand? Thanks.Mark

I believe that Hy Red was a brand of Midwest Oil.

Neat sign Mark . Unusual , and not the same old bowl of beans. Catches ones eye as well.

I like SINCLAIR and old American made stuff ... No china items.

Thanks for all the compliments guys! I love the sign. Its hard to tell in the pics but its more of a cream color than white. It has a high gloss to it. Its going up in the shop to enjoy! Mark

Hy Red was the brand name used by Mid-Western Petroleum Company, and Indianapolis independent that possibly had some ties to Des Moines based Superior 400. Not much is known from this brand, nor do we know what happened to the company. Several globes are known, but only in old photos.

There is an old Hy Red station in the town I live in, Greentown, IN. It was still being used as a gas station into the seventies with an outdoor lube rack. I will get some pictures of it and post them tomorrow.
