Any information on these types of cans - two 5 gallon and one 10 gallon - would be appreciated. Also, estimated value of each. Thanks.

More if they are embossed with gas company name or logo.

I called the gentleman who has the containers and here's some additional information that might help with value.

The tall container is embossed on the side, "Socony Vacuum Oil Company". There is also a number on it, #2372.

The small container (center in photo) has no markings but appears to be a smaller size of the tall container.

The container on the right in the photo is marked, "Columbia Steel Tank Co., Columbia Screw Top, Lube Oil Can, Kansas City.

In the photo, the height of the containers, from left to right is: 28" 17" 21"

Does this information shed anymore light on the value?

Thanks.

The tall one because it's marked Socony will be worth more. IMO 50 - 75. Tank company markings are on most of the ones out there and as said before 25$... Check the completed auctions on e-bay for help but some of those costs are low because they are heavy and cost $$$ to ship.

Thanks
Mike

Ditto what Mike said. I paid $65 for a really nice similar can at Carlisle that has a "Standard Oil" tag.
