A few cans from OGers and eBay. That beautiful Polarine is from Butch-Phillips 66.

4 Pumps in one shot is a record for me, my previous high was 1...lol.

The Wayne 60, Gilbarco and Bennett are all solid and mostly complete minus the panels on the Wayne obviously. The Tok 39 is also mostly complete, the seller had disassembled it to begin restoring but never got to it.

A blind squirrel gets lucky and finds a nut every once in a while BUT Only the Squirliest of squirrels finds plump, juicy RARE nut after rare nut after rare nut along with all the other plain ol nuts that he finds!! wink

I happened upon this a couple weeks ago and thought it was True Oil Company/Rainbow item because of the way it was worded. "ENERGY TRUE GASOLINE"
Thinking that this was a rare Rainbow item, I put it to the top of my priority list of items to buy, for my own collection, but I could not confirm it was True's/Rainbow. Multiple friends looked at a picture of it and told me they thought NOT True's, but they had never seen it before and they all threw out Pure Oil Co. and one said that he had a PURE can with the same colors.
After hearing that, from multiple people, I moved it off the top of my list for my own collection of True's/Rainbow items but hoped I could get it soon either way.

Forward to today- I've temporarily brought it home so it can go into a friends collection!

I found out some great info in the in-between time thanx to Randy (Advertologist )who sent the link to the picture of the side of the building in St. Paul Mn. and to Nels who posted the pictured Christmas blotter and was able to tell me he thought it came from sometime between 1920-1925 and that PURE oil co. branched out this way back then.
With that information, I wonder if PURE intentionally made up and worded this sign with the word "True" because they knew they would be competing against True's oil co. out here??

The Puritan sign, pictured, is another Ultra Rare Pure Oil co. porcelain sign that I found a couple of years ago that helped me track this down further after seeing the pic of the building. It was a DSP Flange that was soooo crusty that I did not even know it was a porcelain sign while I owned it.
I feel that these 2 signs are seldom seen, important pieces of PURE oil co history and would post these items in the PURE COTM but it has been archived (it was done in 2007) and we are not able to ad to those in the archives.

Keep On Being Squirrley everyone and don't listen to the negative people or "Haters"!! There are many Plump, Juicy Rare Nuts still out there!!
