I picked this today. I no there has been lots of talk on how to get old paint of a painted sign. I Would like to know what is working the best now days I don't wont to wreck this sign the other side looks like it is very good if I can get the paint off. The other side was laying face down in the dirt so it is not real good HELP PLEASE. Thanks Scott

The times Ive tried to remove paint from a painted tin sign, I soap down the surface and begin the peel away the paint with a paint scrapper. Go lightly. It may work on the completely painted side, but on spray paint??? Try it in a small corner, to make sure it works and you aren't causing damage. I have done several signs with this process. while it is time consuming, and still leaves tiny flecks of paint here and there,it works.

Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

If it's old oil based exterior paint...it may be a tough one to clean up.

I have used a heat gun and plastic drywall taping knife. I use the knife like a scrapper to pick and peel away the paint, heat gun on low and plenty of patience. I find the plastic causes less damage. Keep the gun away from the knife or it might melt.
