Jamie, Dick was one of those guys that that loved this kind of stuff. Yes, kind of like the politician "I don't care what you say about me but spell my name right". lol By the way, yes, I did hear from him yesterday. Four times! Something about taking a "hit" out on me. Then the next three were even more funny!

I knew that he would like it, but I sure did want to see what kind of sarcastic remark he would make. Always enjoyed reading his comments. Oldgas will never be the same.

He sent me this last night in a PM. Made me laugh a bit. He was good at that. Enjoy.

After telling about a tooth extraction that was very painful, DB said "just before the dentist was ready to pull your tooth you should have reached over and grabbed his nads and said, we're not going to hurt each other are we?"

From one of our last PM's

I know you have been laying awake at night wondering why baby diapers have
brand names such as "Luvs", "Huggies," and "Pampers', while undergarments
for old people are called "Depends".

Well here is the low down on the whole thing.

When babies ***** in their pants, people are still gonna Luv'em,
Hug'em and Pamper' em.

When old people ***** in their pants, it "Depends" on who's in the will!

A member posted this quote in his topic,
"NEGATIVE, CONDESCENDING, DEROGATORY OR SIMILAR POSTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY OF MY FOR SALE POSTS!!!"

Dick Bennett posted this reply,
"You're special?"

The member complained and I did remove it. But it really wasn't against the rules. DB just came out and said what most people were thinking when they would read that first statement. DB was like that. He would say what he was thinking, what many people probably think but don't post in public.

db's quotes were always entertaining. What amazed me the most that how he was able to respond to many posts & insert "db_style_one_of_kind" quotes.

Here is one from a thread: Rust Remover called Metal Rescue

Note the last paragraph. I made it in "bold" just so it sticks out! The first line in "bold" is direct from db.

db:

"Skin, Breathing & EYE Protection w/ ALL Chemicals are a MUST or we might be talking about you; Remember so & so that thought WE were nuts to REMIND ALL to use Protection!
That goes for you Younger Guys to, ALWAYS USE PROTECTION.
WE All make Mistakes & some of US ARE MISTAKES"!

R.I.P. Mr. Bennett!

I was in California when Dick passed. I was so busy I never looked on OG for over a week. Finally started looking at the posts here, but started with the newest ones, instead of the oldest ones. A subject came up and I emailed a question to DB, again not knowing all this. Really feel bad about his passing and my email.

Dick and I were close, we are both cynics, but DB was more verbal than I am.

Not many people know this but Dick on one of five people that helped me put values on all the gas pumps in my first book.

When I wrote the second book, he did all the values. I wanted to thank him in the book, but he said no. We emailed each other all the time and spoke on the phone often. I would kid him about his OG responses.

Some people think I am an expert on gas pumps, but truefully, Dick forgot more that I have ever learned, we are going to miss him here on OG.

I loved his remark he made after a newbie asked a simple question.

"Houston, We have a problem"
