OK Jack here's one for you. It is obviously a Tokheim unit. An older friend of mine has this old pump and we would both like some info since it's not in Jack's book. I assume it's in the same era as the 850/950 because of the similar faces and reset knob. What model is it called? How was it used and where? We also think it originally had some sort of side panels possibly with louvers? It has an older style B&S engine to drive the pump. Tell us what you can about it, approx. value? It has no other tags but we do see a place where a larger tag beside this one used to be.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

These units were mounted on the back of delivery trucks, & used to fill above ground tanks where the fuel had to be pumped higher than the tank of the truck.

Nothing appears to be homemade on it. We've looked it over pretty good. Anyone have a pic. of a restored unit or an old advertising photo?

The 100 gallon delivery should give it away.
I have never seen a clock that goes over 20 gal........for cars anyway.
I always heard the meters called bulk meters ...I guess that would be a bulk clock.

What you do is drop a hose into a tank that your van with 55 gal. drums inside is parked over and.....well I will stop there.

This is a Power Pack Tank Truck Pump, the Tokheim 905, probably from around 1934. It has the same head that is found on the 800 (see page 284 of my book). It stayed in production through the 50s, but with a more update head, as shown here. The above one has a Briggs & Stratton engine. Looks like your's is missing the sheet metal.
As for it not being in my book (I'm not trying to be smart here), if I included this type of pump the book would be so thick you would need a wagon to carry it around. I have a drawer full of commercial pumps that are not in the book.

Thanks Jack for the photo and info! Thanks also DB and everyone else. Does anyone else have one of these restored? I may try to acquire this one, I like unusual items. It would look good next to my 950.

Could it possibly be an airport pump? I have a clockface Erie airport pump that has a 100 gallon dial like this, and is low profile, with a built in hose reel. Mine runs on AC 110V.

Truck pumps had an auxiliary motor (Briggs & Stratton) and air port pumps used regular current (110/220) to operate. Pumps could be the same. Tokheim's airport pumps did not look like this.
