Two years ago at Iowa Gas Dick Bennett was giving out grease can lids as gifts. After receiving mine, I joked with Dick that I was going to make mine into a Rapper necklace like the ones they made out of Mercedes Benz / Cadillac emblems. Well regretfully I never did… until now. Dick was Dick- love him or hate him, he was a major player on the Old Gas site and the guy spent a tremendous about of time contributing. I will say that I really felt like part of the gang when my handle- Garage-a-gogo turned up in his I’ve been dreaming again post! He was “Old School” in a fast becoming “New School” hobby. He will be greatly missed and my condolences to his family. I actually used my lid on a very nice super old Halvoline tin that wat missing it’s lid and looks good on it! Thanks again you “Old School” Cuss!

Oh wow I remember that year at Iowa Gas. I remember he spread some of those out in my vending spot to either give away or sell.
Thanks for the post . Dick would be thrilled that you remembered him and the lid!
I miss him greatly already,
Rob
