Well Bob, It is a good guess, Actually Nordal was their cheap grade of fuel. I wont tell the answer till tomorrow because there are a couple of people who know this one if they log on. Their other globe was actually the first one they used by the old literature ive seen. Never seen the globe but I do have a picture of it in use next to a Grizzly dubbs cracked globe. it may have been their early ethyl grade.........

I've seen a picture of an O'neil globe but I doubt it had anything to do with Northwest. I'm stumped!

Well Les, you got me. I saw what I think is your ad.
Powerized is all that I could come up with. Glacier was from after the sale of Grizzly, right?
Both of those are in the books anyway.

I can't make the connection with anything in your ad to the speaker though.

Whatever it is I'd like to see a picture of it!
Bob

Hi Bob, I guess It was a little too hard unless your really into small independents from Montana. I give you an A+ for effort though, you were looking as hard as possible.... I made a mistake pointing you to pcm. I forgot about where my ad was. The Powerized ad is mine also but the other is in Scotts want page....SORRY.... Im going to send you the matches anyway. Poor pay for all that detective work. The Answer is Tip's Special it was named for Tip O'Neil because he started Northwest Refining Co. i dont have a picture worth sending in, it is too grainy to enlarge any more. Pretty plain globe... just the name written in script at an angle. Looks very similar to the Green Streak globe. Ther you have it guys, Montana History 101. Email me your address Bob..........Les

Great question Les!
That was tough, I'd never have gotten that. I had no idea that Tip O'Neil had been in the oil business. Learn something every day.
