Color of it hurts it to me. But price wise I think he is dead on for a nice Texas region plate. 2k is a decent price but that is all subjective.

Seller should know the difference between it being porcelain or not? He's been at this a long time.
Price is OK, its just that color????

There is no way the seller should date that sign to 1941, because as far as I'm aware plates made by Mc-AX started manufacture around 1947, the same time frame as the wide blue border plates. Some versions of Magnolia territory plates do seem a bit more scarce than their wide blue border counterparts, but this is certainly not a general rule as some are plentiful.
The back of the sign in question is very intriguing to me, very odd to be brown. The sign looks right as rain, but again the back is very odd, it almost looks like primer! Could be that the reverse of the sign was not porcelain coated for some reason during manufacturing.

Why would the back of a porcelain sign be all rusty ?

That does not look right .

Sign is porcelain I have seen it in person and felt it and almost bought it. Real deal for sure IMO. I didn't take it off the wall so the back is new to me as well

I am not sure about the dating and colors but the seller is a very reputable guy as Kevin stated.

Thanks, Phil
