Does anyone have a picture of a large Philips 66 pole sign that shows the lights? I know they are on the bottom of the sign. I have a friend that wants to put lights on his sign and is looking for the correct lights.
Thanks.

John, are you referring to the Red/White or the Orange/Black sign?

here is a picture... but this is a 'restored' station, so I am unsure if lights were original to the pole.

i also searched old Phillips road maps, since road maps always seem to have pole signs depicted on them... but none of the signs had lights.

I have a Phillips 66 book showing photos of the sign with lights from the 1940s and 50s. I won't have time to download them and then upload them. It's harvest time, but if you want to pm your phone # I can take a camera/cell photo of them and text you them or anyone that wants to download them here. The lights in BryceG's post look homemade, but the actual ones did also. The ones from the 1950's were more flush mounted with the sign pole.

John, the ones you sold me I have not used yet, and my wife believes they will be too bright for the location of our new house. if you want them back, they can be available.

Just saying Byrce...brightness is determined by the light source not the light fixture. Smaller wattage blub or a dimmer switch with dimmable blubs should remedy the brightness issue.

yeah, thanks Dave... i know. I think she assumed when I was talking about lighting that I was referring to accent lighting, possibly point up from the ground. Not actually having lights on the pole. I may still end up using them.

As long as she allows me to put a pole sign up on our property... then I'll use whatever lighting pleases her, lol.

I agree, having the go ahead to put up the pole is the most important thing. The lights are trivial and could be used occasionally as accent lighting.
