Picked up a nice Bowser 585 over the Christmas holiday. I noticed that the nozzle receiver has a threaded hole on the top. Anyone know what this is for?

A price sign makes sense. Anyone seen one, or know where I might pick one up? Thanks,

Hi Shon, Welcome to the hobby. I have seen old service station pictures of the 585's but none have anything attached to this piece.

You guys hit the nail on the head with the price sign theory. Curbside or mounted price signs weren't in use when these pumps were. The signs that we see advertising the prices today were just a dream then. So, they posted the price on flags atop the pump mounted in many different ways. What you all mentioned are good examples.

Thanks gasmansgp. Anyone have any pictures showing examples, possibly Jack Sim with his extensive literature library?
