I'm looking at the polymer Lenses from Gas Pump Heaven.
I was thinking of useing a couple for out door pumps.
Has anyone seen them lit up do they look as good as glass?
Are they durable enough for out doors?
Has any one used them to know?
Thanks

I wouldn't buy anything from them. The couple times I tried to order something from them, they were very rude and condescending on the phone. They acted like I was an ***** and their stuff was the best stuff on the planet. I don't know if the other company's out there have what you want, but those guys would be my very last choice.

I have never had a problem with them but all my business was done through the web site. I never called them but have talked to other people who have talked to them on the phone and there is a person there that is very rude. They have lost some business because of it.

I have ordered from them a lot, Diane and Andy are great, Diane used to answer the phone and now someone named Kay does. She has turned into an arrogant tail end of a donkey over the last couple years?????

Thanks, Phil

Andy and Diane have always gone the extra mile for me, I have sent a lot of customers they're way and will continue to. Have talked to the other gal many times but always enjoy talking to Diane when I can...Frank

Maybe someone should talk to Andy and Diane about Kay? Sad to see a place loose business because of a bad employee.

That's funny you said that.
That's the reason for asking here, I dont like to call them for that reason.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Thanks

Yeah, there is one rude person their unfortunately, I scaled back using them too because of her after my last phone interaction. The owners probably don't know.

Getting back to the lenses . . .

I have a couple of concerns/questions.

First, some of the artwork offered on the 'Polymer Lenses' seems to be from another lens retailer. These images were supposedly 'limited runs' of only 15 sets. And the artwork is exact to the lenses sold by this retailer.

Did he give permission for the use of the art? Or was the art 'borrowed'?

If the original designer of these 'fantasy' lenses supplied the artwork to Gas Pump Heaven - then he is misleading his customers to the actual number of lenses that might be produced from the artwork.

If it was 'borrowed', then the original designer of these 'fantasy' lenses received no compensation for his work - and his customers that purchased 'limited run' lenses have lost the value of their investment.

Either way, not an ethical situation in my opinion.

Second. These plastic lenses are retailing at $275.00. That's a lot of cash for digitally printed images on plastic. I would not expect these to last much longer out in the weather than the plastic visible pump cylinders that are available.

Keep in mind, any of the glass globe lenses that are being reproduced will last as long as an original lens. They are being made by the original production method. If the originals didn't last out in the weather, we would not have anything to collect.

Just my thoughts - but I'd invest in glass over plastic any day.

Later . . .

Jim

Just curious...why go with polymer if glass is available?

Is it a breakage thing?

I would pick glass any day over plastic if given a choice.

I agree with you I like glass as well, however theses are for outdoor pumps that get hailed "breakage" on and will be restored in the future to another brand.
So at a fraction of the cost they are nice for now and will be discarded in the future or put on another outdoor pump.
I do use only 15” glass on indoor pumps. I have never tried these but I will to get the nicer graphics.

Thanks
Lee
