In another thread blacktee (Doug) posted
Ditto about DB I still wait for him to tie into someone half way through a post, realize it's just not going to happen. he left us way to soon. Any one thought of doing a Christmas thread/card for Judy in December ?
So here it is!
Say Merry Christmas in your own way
DB you cranky old fart, I miss you. You came through Colorado more than a few times finding gas pumps and parts I couldn't find. Stayed with me and we rode to Iowa Gas together. The window down the whole time, you smoking and talking. I'm half deaf and with the window down I just nodded most of the time. You mumbled anyway!
Merry Christmas where ever you are.

Every time I walk by my Deep Rock Air Race lubester and bottle rack with the labels DB made for me he crosses my mind. It still doesn't seem quite right on Oldgas everyday with out you Dick. I'll never forget in one of the first emails he sent to me we were talking about southwest Missouri and him being from my neck of the woods. When I asked him if he ever came back here to visit he said NO! When I ask him why he said he could answer that in one word....RELATIVES!!
Merry Christmas Dick.

Wow just got my first snail mail Christmas card yesterday and thought it was early and now this. DB and I visited just after Christmas last year there wasn't much going around Santa Paula then except DB and Judy! Happy to see us, he lit up a few of his gems and bedazzled us. It was an OG type Christmas display. There wasn't any snow (or salt!) around Santa Paula or even water. Strange Christmas time scene for a northern boy. But the curmudgeon was his kindly best and sent us on our way with a week's supply of oranges and avocados. I miss the frequent lessons on human behaviour and yes signs, oil cans and pumps too, that arrived almost nightly via PM and email. This grasshopper was listening and learning. Merry OG Christmas Dick, wherever your celebrating it.

Merry Christmas Mrs. Judy sure this will be a tough one for you. You are in our prayers here. DB is missed here on Oldgas every day. Seems there is always a question about a pump, and I think to myself now that is a question for DB. I always found humor in the fact that he would let us Newbies have a stab at it then here he would come posting not only the correct info but given us some tough love lessons along the way.
Merry Christmas Dick Some how I have the notion that the gates of heaven have Roman Pumps on each side and you told them what was wrong with them on you way in.

It feels a little strange that I haven't been poked fun of lately from him. Merry Christmas DB, I'm sure you're busy having a discussion with Glenn or Kyle. Thanks for your guidance.
