Wanted to inform everyone who knew Jim Steeves of his untimely passing last evening due to complications of a stroke.Jim shared an intense passion for our hobby and was always willing and eager to share his seemingly endless knowledge of gas pumps with anyone. Jim was full of life and always happiest when on the open road in search of new discoveries, making time along the way to stop and visit with friends who shared his passion.Jim is survived by his wife Betty and his loving dog Tobby.Rest easy my friend and may the sun shine down apon your endless highways.

I did not know the man, but we obviously shared a passion for a wonderful hobby and you can pass along my condolences for their loss. I'll be sure to keep them in my prayers during this holiday season.

I did know Jim and he had helped me from the get go, full of life and words of a good nature. Sorry to hear of his passing and like others makes you think of all the great collectors we have lost in the past year or two.

I'm in Shock just hearing this news from a fellow oldgasser who knew I traveled with a "Jimmy" on my adventures up here in Maine. I'd don't know what to say, other then to me this is a Dick Bennett level loss. Jimmy was a great guy who you had to get to love. We were a lot alike in many ways. There was not much Jimmy didn't know about the hobby or where to find something. He was a truck driver for Mayflower and had been picking up signs , pumps, air Meters, Clocks, you name it since the 70's in all 48 lower states. He loved Dogs and would stop in when he came through the area to make a delivery or visit his sister in his Native Home town of Waterville, Maine. Roll on my friend & thanks for the lessons.
