Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone knows the date of this Gillette Tire sign. It is tin and I thought 40's but a friend thinks 30's or earlier. Also what is a round about value on this? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

Gillette Safety Tire Company was founded in 1916 and sold piecemeal to U.S. Rubber Company with Gillette Tire going out of business in 1940; At which time Gillette became a Brand under the U.S. Tire umbrella... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Rubber_CompanyFrom their advertising, it looks as if the later half of 1919 is when the Company started using the "Polar Bear" logo... I did not see any advertising, relating to the specific sign in question...

It's a 1000+ sign at a major auction house or at an advertising show
see me at Mason Dixon Gas, Spring Carlisle M114-115, and Hershey C4E-35.
