I refurbished a Bowser 585 pump over the summer as a Beeline pump. I posted it here so most of you must have seen the finished pump. Last week, I was doing something in the shop and noticed the "Premium" ad glass I made for the pump and then noticed the Ethyl decal on the bottom of each door. I don't know when high octane gasoline became Premium instead of Ethyl but I though that Ethyl ad glass would look better. Here's a before and a couple after pics. Let me know which one you prefer and or a lesson in when the term Premium came about on fuel dispensers.
Have fun everybody!

Wally

Don't know about the change in one from the other but the ethyl ad glass is definitely an improvement. Looks good.

I agree Ethyl looks better.

In 1924 Company became Ethyl Gasoline Corporation (E.G.C.). which is the decal on your pump. However, in 1942 Company became Ethyl Corporation (E.C.) this was approximately 6 years before your pump was first manufactured.
