I thought that my pump was a Tokheim 300 but I saw a picture of a National 360 Tag and now I think mine might be a 360 from the tag on the side of the pump.
The tag is stamped 360 P ........ 09116 ......... 6 55 and on the bottom 326717.
Would I be right in thinking it is a National 360 mfg in June 1955?

Tokheim 300 and the National 360 are basically the same pump. By the tag your is a National but the parts interchange such as the faceplate you have pictured.

Yes you are correct, it is a National 360, made in June, 1955, but it was made by the Tokheim Pump Co., as they were the owners of the National Co. at this time. Your 360 should have a high top with a large curved ad glass on it. My National/Tokheim literature does not show the 360 with the top that was used on the Tokheim 300 pumps. Also the face should have the National name on it, not the Tokheim name, it appears someone swapped out the original National faces and put Tokheim faces on your pump.

I keep editing this post. Possibly you have a Tokheim 300 and the side that has the ID tag on it got damaged and a repair man put a side from a National 360 (identical except for the ID tag) on the pump. Remember, these were just things you used to pump gas. I don't even remember who made the pumps that were in my Shell station back in the 1970s.

Tokheim did put the National name on one more pump, the 448 series, after this the National name was dropped.

Here is a picture of the original 360 pump: http://petrolianacollectibles.com/national%20360-365.htm

I have a low profile top with chrome bands with the name Tokheim embossed on them. It looks like a Tok 300 pictures. Any way to tell on the inside what it may be? I will have to order some parts and do not want to order the wrong ones.

If the word "TOKHEIM" is embossed in the stainless steel it is a 300, only pump that had that feature.

I made it a point to work on it every day no matter during the winter to finish it up by spring. Goal was accomplished and the long (now) dreaded winters here went by pretty fast. Good luck .

Took the computer out cleaned all the gears and wheels and innards . Re-oiled all lightly and re-painted all the numbers on the wheel one at a time.
Dumped The pump no use for it. Rings back as it was meant to. Joe yokum does the computers if you want top notch as factory. The best I have heard bar none.

Here is a National 305. It is just like the Tok 300 but has National faces, uner embossed trim and National ID tag.

Paint , just took my original fire chief 1955 pump sign & had it (the hat) computer paint matched to get my color for the pump. Worked out perfect !
Considered powder coat but wanted paint.
