The person I bought this from thought maybe it was old Standard colors but not sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Todd.

Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

That looks like the late 30's pennzoil ads....I had a thermometer that was a chalkboard as well....Looked very similar in terms of color and script.

I have a yellow and black one but a lot of these were generic and could be used anywhere. If they were directed at a particular brand I think it would say it on there somewhere.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. Would be nice to know for sure. Lots of great knowledge here on old gas. Maybe it will show up in someone's literature.

Todd: I don't think your Specialized rack is connected to any specific oil company. The black and yellow colors do resemble Pennzoil but the orange on your rack doesn't. There is a picture of the Specialized rack on page 10 of the August issue, 2014 PCM magazine but it has the orange around the perimeter of it. I think that if the racks were aimed at any specific oil company, that oil company name or slogan would be somewhere on the rack, as was mentioned.
Specialized Lubrication, I think, was a company all it's own making generic racks for all companies, not any specific as Neil mentioned. Hope this helps...Dale
Wanted: Champion Spark plug, Shell, Pennzoil, Kendall, and Woco Pep signs...Dale Stephens

Maybe do a google search of Fibrous and viscous lubricant and see if any one company shows up?
