I just bought this Gilbarco air meter and need a wall mount and the Air emblem for it. Does anyone have either one they would want to sell? I'm looking for originals. I know they have repos for $30-$40 but I'm a stickler for original. Is there any difference in appearance from an original to a repo mount or emblem?

Looked for a long time years back for an emblem and finally got one from Jack Sim http://www.petrolianacollectibles.com/am11a.htm.

I had to curve it a bit to fit perfect but it matched perfect with the piece I had left of the original.

Ron Scobie has them curved correctly, I have never compared his but he casts them off parts from his original collection. http://www.gaspump.com/Air_Meters/Gilbarco_Air_Meters.html

Thanks nice air meter. If I can't find an original, then at least I'll have some where to turn to

I have owned and restored an number of these meters and I have never had an original AIR trim piece that was worth putting back on a nicely restored meter.

Good luck,

Anyone know why that red restored gilbarco on eBay only got up to $620? I know Eco's go for more, but I thought they were worth more than that. He had a reserve so it was not met. It's under the completed listings now.

Everybody remembers the ECOs, very few people remember the G&Bs.
Ironically both the meters shown have ECO mechanisms in them, most people are not aware of that and that the bell will ding every time a shot of air is sent to the tire.

I have owned and restored over 350 ECO air meters, but I have never restored a Gilbarco. I have always parted them out, using the mechanisms in a ECO and selling the housings to anyone who needs them.
