Recently, I purchased a Red Indian sign in relatively good condition. The only problem was that the red colour was slightly faded. Is there a way of bringing the red back again so that it's as vibrant as the black?

John:
You might try some mild automotive paint cleaner. I use Meguiars machine polishes with a pneumatic polisher. Make sure to follow the directions on the polish and work the pad from the center of the sign to the edges. This will help to not pull any loose chips off the edge of the sign. After you get it cleaned up - add a coat of wax and the shine should be pretty well restored.
Remember that what you are attempting to do is remove the fine pitting that has taken place over the years from acid rain and the elements. Sometimes you can't get it all to go away.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try.
