Mae West question

Does anyone have a Mae West with floats like this? I have had many Mae West pumps, both 5 and 10 gallon, but none have had these floats.
What is the hook on the bottom for??

In the fully lowered position, the hook serves to push the float up so as to read "To Storage".

A gentleman sent me pictures.
Pretty simple.

I brought this back up to ask a question. I have 5gal. external pump with only one float holder. It is turned facing toward gate valve. Have a notion that it was installed this way because pump was installed where it could only be excesed from one side by auto. Anyone else found one this way? Just wondering.
