Hoping someone might know the answer to a question I have about a Ford neon sign I purchased. I want to know what the proper colors would be for the neon. Looking at images on line, I have seen signs with the Ford script in white, blue and red. I have seen the same three colors on the oval border as well as the wings. What, if anything, is the correct color scheme? I was fortunate enough to get an old dealership sign directly from the dealer's son (the sign that sold on eBay last month in Minnesota). It cleaned up incredibly well, and I would like to install the proper colors. Thanks as always for any help.

I've heard that red was the color for those signs

Used to grab your attention and that's it. Not for cool, visual effect...

I got one from a guy who said he got it right off the building. Script was white very old and dim. Outside was white also but the end that worked was red. My neoner said the neon was very old glass but he couldn't be sure it was original.

Your best source of accurate specifics is to find original dealer sign catalogs that will spell it out. I have some for Chevrolet, but no Ford. Sorry I can't help more.
Great sign, look forward to seeing it lit up.

There were different Ford with wings signs and different colors. I too thought that everything should be the same. This one has no indentations on the body and the wings are molded in. Saw a picture in a catalog when we put the neon on for this model. We did it that way even though my other had a different color combination and we got the neon or at least pieces of it with it.

Thanks for all the information. I'll post a picture once I reinstall the neon.
