Not questioning whether or not that sign is legit....but I am curious as to why it's dated 62 when they ONLY made that sign in 61 ??

don't know, you will have to figure that one out, hard to believe in the oil and gasoline industry an oil company would only make a sign for one year..but who knows ?

Here is another one,, both of these pictures are of signs I have seen sold somewhere along the line, not mine,,

Your right Wes, seems funny only one year. Just my understanding...they made this sign one year then switched to hexagon version in 62/63. Obviously I was wrong...or a few slipped through ??

According to the Guide To Gasoline Logos (Henderson/Benjamin) the hexagonal logo began in 1965.

Agreed, but there you see it in 63. Also the reason why the 61 version is valued higher (one year = less signs produced) ?? Just things I've learned/heard over the years and very well could be wrong...I'm sure one of the BIG Texaco guys will straighten me/this out smile
