I came upon this while trying to do some research on my weathervane. I took the "Then" photo out of Wayne Henderson 100 years book. I hope that is okay with him. The "Now" picture is of course from googlemaps. Very sad to go from such a beautiful station to a BOX!!! Literally!! And yes, according to the very specific info in Waynes book, this is the same location.

The old station with ms 80s is neat . The new stations all just look dull. What a shame I agree Steve . I always wonder where are the old stuff went? Landfill , scrapyard , still in someone's barn or basement?....guess that's the collector side of all of us . Those large sunoco letters would be great for you collection.
I like SINCLAIR and old American made stuff ... No china items.

Those large sunoco letters would be great for you collection. The guy I bought the weatervane from has a set for sale. I just dont have the realestate in my garage for them. Wish I had more property, I would build a pole barn for them!!

That would be nest for sure . The little town 5 miles from where I grew up had a sunoco sign with a large red arrow , it was a plastic sign though . They removed it in 1994 or so on a station remodel and changer over. I asked the owner a few years back and he said the contractors took it .

Go back and buy the letters. In time, you will regret not buying them.
