Hey Iv'e got a chance to buy a visible pump six sided but can't read I.D. tag. Looks like the American pump on page 7 of Jack Sims book with a litlle different base and a really neat china cap but I don't see any in the book like it. The owner says the glass cylinder he beleives is original. It's only about 1/4 inch thick. I thought all the cylinders ever made were much thicker. Anybody have any input on the thickness issue? Sure would welcome some input. Jack are you out there? Ted

Hey I needed my eyes checked. It was eight sided but still couldn't find it exactly in the Jack Sim book. Maybe can be used for next book. Just like American 2387-V but has original china cap. Ball on top where a glope can mount. Conduit for electrical and like Dwaine said Associated price box. Thanks Dwaine for the quick help and thanks to Larry Ivy for his input. Happy pump hunting as this one is in the truck at it's new home. Ted

Geez Ted.... According to the pic in Jack's book a very nice pump indeed.... the base is really cool. Looks like I'm going to have to do something I have been putting off for way too long... I have to get another one of Jack's pump books to carry in the pick-up with me at all times.... ran into a Bennet 647 today in really good original condition done to Richfield and almost offered the lady too much for it.

Great find! Post a pic asap. As for the cylinder thickness, I just measured an original blue tinted cylinder I have laying around and the thickness IS 1/4".

This reminds me of a dumb thing I did several years ago. At an auction, there were 4 glass cylinders and everyone there was trying to figure out what the heck they were. I knew I should know but just could'nt put it together. They sold for $5.00 for all 4. A month later I saw the same thing at Hershey Pa. and it hit me what those glass things were. I have kicked my butt ever since.
