Please note that when looking at these patents take a look at the dates. In the last one that Travis posted (some kind of a computer patented by Bowser), the patent was filed in 1936, but it wasn't issued until 1940, by this time it was obsolete. Back in the 1930s many law suits were placed by Wayne for infringing on their computer patent. What they would do was to wait unit one of these pumps were installed in Ft. Wayne, then they would sue everyone from the station owner, the equipment company who sold the pump, and the manufacturer of the pump. They won most of their suits. Wayne probably made a lot of money licensing the other pump companies so they could use the Wayne (Veeder-Root) computer. Jack Sim

I did not see the elefent pump! What a cool and dumb looking thing! I found lots of pumps like that for compaines - shell top pump - start top, even a red crown toper pump.
Doing a search for patents with words:
wayne company fort indiana
put in a DATES to limit what you get and you will get ALL of wayned patents - and they hold most of them for almost all of the pump compaines.
JOE - here is the patent for the 36B I had the regular 36 but lost it in my 20 hours of searching through these... http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT2136530&id=KIEBAAAAEBAJ&pg=PP1&dq=The+Wayne+Company+DISPENSING+APPARATUS&num=100#PPP1,M1

After digging around in here It seems like the Wayne Co. came up with the Variator and Veeder Root came up with the counter-head. Am I wrong about this??? Veeder Root made counters for all kinds of stuff, I had heard once that they have been around since the civil war is this true Joe Do you vaccum with this one or play slots? http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT1...num=100#PPP1,M1 So far this is the earliest drawing of a cabinet with a computer inside I have found yet...1933...this is like tracing your roots, but more addicting than porn ....lol http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT1999362&id=yc14AAAAEBAJ&pg=PP1&dq=gearing+for+liquid+dispensing+apparatus+1933&num=100#PPP1,M1 [This message has been edited by jkyocom (edited 01-07-2007).] [This message has been edited by jkyocom (edited 01-07-2007).]
