The eBay listing and the known original look very close to my eyes. The orange in the original has a slightly darker tint but the fonts seem the same and placement of the letters on the background as well.
I think that longer appearing lower leg on the "E" is due to the
tilted view in the picture.
The white border of the letters is wider in the eBay sign.
Anybody else?
Dave

It looked to me like the flange has grommets. maybe I'm seeing things
The things to me that agrees it's wrong is go to the e-bay auction and magnify the photo.....the letters are sloppy compared to an original

Thanks
Mike

which are nice & crisp- stopped the snipe with
3 minutes too go... cool

question I asked seller:

Q: do you guarantee this as original? Thank You- Randy
A: Yes, this is guaranteed as original, please see return policy as we fully stand behind it.

I will go back and look. Thanks for the info. Randy, Are all your animals running loose in your house? Looks like your parrot is out.

...the only thing I noticed was that the flange on the eBay sign was bent to the opposite side than the other examples Randy posted...I'd like to see the back side of the actual flange (where it meets the wall/post it would have been attached to), to see if it's white, or black...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

i have owned 2 of these signs... each was marked with maker on the inside of the flange. the one in question was not.

that along with the some of the lettering flaws, made me stay away from it

I have had two of this sign. BOTH were stamped on the flange as well.

Mainly focused on Oilzum, Jenney, Harris Oil items & original paint gas pumps.

Both of mine have the makers mark on the inside of the flange (you can see it in one of the photos I posted)and the one in the auction didn't.

Thanks
Mike

The flange being bent the opposite way is not an indicator, but I too would have liked to see the back side of the flange. It may have left the factory out the back door as a second. One side the lettering was better than the other. The edges of the sign also looked too crisp.

Wanted anything Flying A Gas, Signal Gas, Hancock oil co, and Sunland.

Thanks Anthony
