Pump plates and globes on the pair of pumps were reproduction. $4200 is outstanding... congrats on a strong auction! I left 10-bids and ended up with half of a sign and some barn wood! LOL how come my oil can rack didnt make the highlights! haha, just kidding. cant wait to get it actually, was excited when the auctioneer emailed me to let me know I won it

Looks like it went well, Frith Auctions, premier petroliana, advertising auctioneers. Devils Lake, ND. I see a future endeavor here Kevin!!!!
Thanks, Phil _________________________________________________ Looking for any old pumps, or nice 5 gallon cans.

I had the same reaction to the price the two pumps sold for. Beautiful examples no doubt but I find myself feeling embarrassed by the absentee bid I left on one of them.

The guy that bought them was a very wealthy farmer I believe. He and his sons are in the ethanol business and are making a killing.

Rob Rob-- I was surprised too, and I don't know who the second bidder was, but the buyer was a fellow with a booming new business, that had recently gotten into collecting gas & oil memorabilia. Bidding was hot & heavy on them, up to about $1500 and then the 2 parties kept slugging it out to determine the winner!
