Haven't seen a thread about service station mirrors. A lot of companies put their brand on them. Here's three Marathon ones. The first is a rare one from the early 50's, second one is from the 60's, last one from the 70's and on. The font is what is different on each one.

Let's see some more.

Mom has a very nice Sinclair mirror in her collection, I will get and post a picture of it. Aslo, as with most oil and gas collectables, I see a lot of fake/ repro, fantasy gas company mirrors at shows and on the internet. Some just have a decal stuck on them, others look to be etched/ painted. Buyer beware..

The first mirror is mine, the second I WISH was mine, lol.
Mobil mirror from my collection.....

The Hi-Speed mirror is still hanging in a local jobber's office bathroom, where it was originally installed when they built the building in 1950. Obviously the piece is not for sale and probably never will be as it's a 3 generation business. I think it's one of the neatest petro mirrors out there, or that I've seen anyways!

Let's see some more mirrors!

To expand a bit on Wes' post above, the originals all seem to be reverse painted/applied, and under the silvering. The Mobil or Marathons would be easy to fake with decals, but be sure to look for proper construction.

I've only got one, but there are very few of them around. Like all old bathroom mirrors, they seem to have been broken a lot and not many survived!
These Westland mirrors were originally hung from a wall with nothing but a simple string holding them up! Of course, the string often times broke with age and that led to the destruction of a lot of them!
This mirror is in pretty fair shape with a little lifting of the graphics behind the glass, but very little!
Unlike the other mirrors posted, this company used their logo at the top and a graphic picture of their company headquarters at the bottom! Very attractive bathroom mirror! I love it and hope you enjoy the pictures of it!
Please excuse the reflection of the Old Gasser taking the photos! Thanks--KEVIN
