When I was shared this photo, I nearly fell outta my chair ! it is a Vonde's Visible pump and it is described in jack's second gasoline Pump book .

According to jack , they were in Los Angles . The photo is from the area .

Back when...you didn't have to make everything ***** proof. No guards or shields for the belt or the driven wheel. Loose wires without any conduit. Survival of the fittest. The not so smart, were sorta weeded out over time.

The Vonde's brochure I got the picture from was for the later pumps, he just put the picture of the old one to show his first pump.
From what is shown above, I would say the pumping device was also supplied by Vonde. Besides the bycicle rim it looks a normal pump, there even seems to be a water filter in the line.

Am trying to date the picture, can anyone give me an approx. date of the Goodrich(?) tire sign in the window.

One last thing, can I use the pic. in my book?
