...can someone post the difference in size in the stamped steel bases for the tall and short Tokheim 39 (if there is one) to help identify which base goes with which pump? thanks!

Mark,
Off hand I don't have the actual dimension between the 2, the shape is not exactly the same. However if you are trying to decide which fits what, the rule I have observed is that a cast iron base goes with the pump that has cast iron Veeder Root brackets and the stamped steel base goes with the stamped steel Veeder Root brackets. This seems to apply to both tall and short 39's.
Tom.

Thanks, Tom - I've got a tall 39, that had an unsalvageable base, and I've got a line on a replacement, but I don't know if the replacement is from a short or tall 39...if I knew the dimensions of each, I'd know whether or not I can use the base...

Tom is correct on the cast iron bases they go on the four add glass tall 39's. The two add glass pumps usually have the stamped steel base. They are the same as a short 39 steel base that has hinged doors. The short 39 with slide on doors has a different stamped steel base all though the dimensions will be the same. Richard

The pictured base goes to a short 39 with lift off doors. There are no brackets for the door latch system that was used on all tall 39,s.

I have a base for a tall 39. But I believe it is cast aluminum. If you are interested let me know.
