I just picked up this really rough Hayes clockface pump today along with a few other pumps, but this one I am stumped about at the moment. I checked out Jack's book to find out what it is and it looks just like the Hayes pump to the right of the Hayes AX-600 on the page, but the book shows that it has a computer in it, not a clock mechanism like this one has had its whole life. The pump has no identification plates anywhere on it. Has anyone else seen one of these pumps with a clock mechanism? Anyone know what model of pump it is? Does anyone have a picture of one? Any help is appreciated. Thank you everyone.

I can not help much but I did have a top for one of these (or the computer version) and it took a long time to figure out what it went to. If you notch out the corners like mine was it fits nicely on a 36B. I did not notch the corner but some one did so it must have been on a 36B at one time.

It is a AX-600C, a picture of it will be in the next book.

here's pictures of a 600-C that showed up local to me. I believe a member here now owns it...

Nice to see some responses, BUT no Jack it is not an AX-600C, I swear to it. I have an all original Hayes AX-600C and the second picture is that pump. It is completely different than the unknown model. Look closely, it has sight glasses, faces are different sizes, top is different, side panels are different. It is a completely different pump than an AX-600C. I hope someone can help us out to clarify this. I look forward to hearing from someone?

I agree it is not a AX-600-C. I kept comparing it with the last picture.

Whatever it is, it is the very first cash recorder pump with a inside sight glass I have ever seen.

Hayes was one of the pump companies that didn't want to pay Wayne/Veeder Root for the rights to use the new computer. They came out with their own computer, it is in the white pump on page 179 of my 2nd edition. The cabinet looks to be the same as the cabinet in your picture. Perhaps they tried to put the cash recorder in this pump first. Do I have your permission to use the above picture? If you have a full picture of the pump with the door on it, that would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Jack Sim

Yes Jack, you have my permission to use this picture. Unfortunately I have no doors or base for the pump. Hopefully I can get it put together with the missing pieces sometime. Thanks for your great information! I can take a better picture of it tomorrow night if that works for you?

Yes, a straight on picture showing all of the pump would be great, also try and send it to me at the highest resolution as possible.

Thanks again,
