This has a brass handle I have not seen one before not that it means anything. Probably made lots just a first for me. My question is that most the ones I have seen had a cast handle or medal, was the brass handle also used lots? it does say Alemite on the handle.
Always looking for grizzly gasoline stuff, or any Montana gas and oil stuff.

Not a oil pump, a grease pump. My Alamite catalog is about 12" thick so I probably have some info on it, but very busy trying to finish the 3rd Ed of the gas pump book.

Some uses of brass in mechanical operations like this were to reduce chance of sparking for certain applications.
Alternately an early version of the design which were later replaced by cast or stamped steel version.

Randy,
The grease dispenser you show above was first introduced in 1925 by Bennett, Model 25, but it appears they never patented it and just about every equipment manufacturer copied it. They all look alike. Bennett made the 25 into the mid-1960s. I believe it was there longest running piece of equipment they made.
