Farm fresh sign that was new in the crate. It's 4 pieces, metal, 6ft x 12ft. I haven't seen anything like it. Anyone know if these were common or really rare? We're they hung up on highways or on a big service station? Any ideas on value of something like this new old stock considering anything that were actually hung up are likely now rough? Thanks for you comments.

The sign font looks more 'modern', likely 70's or newer depending on material used for the panels. Look for any ID marks on the front or back of the panels for dating.
There's an OG thread on companies of the month you can search for "Quaker State Gasoline" and find it which talks about QS being associated with Sterling regionally even today in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Valuewise currently such a large sign will appeal to a select market but condition is such the collector interested might pay anywhere between $800-2000 depending on where/when sold. (Auction value) Few collectors have wallspace for such size so they won't be throwing large offers towards it. (Wholesale value likely $600-1000) However, someone with a huge building would find it a pretty sweet sign I would think. (Pie in the Sky collector $2000)

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

(Pie in the Sky collector $2000) Appears to have been listed on e-Bay at the "Bakery in the Sky" price.

Once again a new member gets erroneous information and inflated values by a full time dealer who hopes to get these prices. NOW this new member thinks he hit the gold mine by what info he got on here. If the original poster is still around here, If you get offered $300-$500. take the offer and run.

ROFL - I said Pie In Sky at $2k and more likely $800-1000 for someone liking large signs to hang. So I take no responsibility for a $3k number ... LOL. Seen plenty of very nice late century large pieces go for what I thought was once crazy money. I valued that piece accordingly and apparently no one else chimed in, now you take the time to comment something derogatory ? LOL! Once again the audacity! Now if some crazy guy does a buy it now at that price we'd both be shocked.... but who moreso?
