Looking for input on places to look for vintage/antique gas products? I have visited a few estate sales, but not sure how else to hunt. Thanks

Welcome to Old Gas!

Travel to gas and oil shows is the best. I search auctions on a regular basis and go to quite a few. Also antique shows, car show swap meets. E-bay, Craigslist and running ads in country newspapers helps.

Also subscribe to PCM magazine (petroleum collectables magazine) as they advertise auctions , shows and sellers ads.

Click on "Events" near the top of this page and look over the "Petroliana News" forum category.

Kevin, remember to check out the For Sale Forums here on Oldgas...

Are you looking for specific items and/or items from Specific Oil Companies?

Jim, started a new Forum: "Collectors Roster USA"; where one can express where they are from and what their main Petro interests entail....

I am planning a roadtrip in Texas. Any specific places would recommend stopping in this weekend?

Not this weekend, but April 30 to May 3 is the Pate swap meet at the Texas Motor Speedway north of Ft Worth.

Ebay, Craigslist, oldgas, all good places to look. Shows are good.

I'm not a heavy collector, but I find most of my items by being inquisitive, keeping an eye out. If I see an old sign, pump, whatever at a business or someone's home (especially if it's NOT proudly on display), I'll stop by and say hello. If it's a vacant building, stop at the neighboring business and ask for contact info, etc. As long as your friendly, most people are friendly back.
