1887 Cast Iron Black Americana Mechanical Bar Game (Free Shipping)
This game of chance was mostly found in your local tavern, where patrons would place, either a coin or steel ball in its mouth & pull a handle on the back. Bets were placed as to what numbered slot; the coin would come out of on the bottom. The coin was placed in his palm & his arm would move up to deposit it in his mouth. Also, when the lever is pulled, his eyes & tongue roll back. The bottom is marked “J.E. Stevens 1887”. It is in working condition & is quite heavy, esp. for its size, at 8 inches tall by 4 inches wide. It does have some minor paint chipping but this is definitely one of the nicest examples of this game, I’ve found. There were some knockoffs made but this is a original example and sell for around $200.00, according to cultural heritage auctions.
