Hi, does anyone know of a good shipping company that ships coast to coast thanks

Also, the pick-up and delivery locations must BOTH be accessible for a 53' tractor trailer

The last pump I shipped was via R&L Carriers and they beat everybody on price. You will have to crate the pump on a pallet though, they won't do the blanket wrap like NAVL. The one I shipped from southwest Missouri to Pennsylvania for $250 including insurance. That was dock to dock. Residential delivery with lift gate service is $50 more. Used NAVL many times with no problems, may try R&L and see what happens.

You never know what carriers sweet spot you will hit based on delivery locations. I usually use frieghtquote.com to figure out best pricing (uship is fine too). I've used R&L the most, but they destroyed a pump once. Think they dropped off a cliff, then they put a new pallet underneath it, and delivered it like nothing happened.

2 deliveries from NAVL (Beltmann Group) for me sp far, with no or very little issues. Only thing that has happened so far was a reset crank was broken off of one pump... no biggie, but it does show that they do get slightly tossed around.

I've dealt with every freight company you can think of over the last fifty years in my business and one things for sure, just because one does a good job once, or ten times for that matter, doesn't mean they are immune to destroying freight for you the next time you use them. I actually think it is a little better nowadays just because so many of the small regional freight companies are gone and the consolidation to the big boys often results in less interline handling of freight. Every time something is moved to another trailer or goes through a terminal and re routed, the chances of damage increases ten fold. The pump I just sent to PA via R&L got there in three days and in perfect shape but I was nervous from the time it left til it arrived intact. I also built a fortress that resembled a crate around it so they would have had to really tried to destroy it, which happens some times anyway. If I couldn't (or didn't want to) build a strong box around a pump to ship it I think I might spend the extra $ and use a carrier like NAVL that is more used to handling furniture and more fragile items. The pump I sent to PA went to a museum and they had an art hauler quote the shipping and it was going to be $1,100 to have them haul it! They must have people hauling stuff in a pickup, lol! The bottom line with shipping anything is like we've all said before, proper packaging! Did you ever ride in the back of a semi trailer on a rough road? Not exactly a Cadillac type ride......GB.
