Looks like you borrowed one of Ron Bettin's pictures from the internet.

We've covered this before....

You really need to get yourself a copy of the gas pump restoration book...
http://www.pcmpublishing.com/shop/proddetail.php?prod=GPumpResto2

and the gas pump globe CD.....
http://www.pcmpublishing.com/shop/proddetail.php?prod=GasGlobesCD

They're only $30 and $35 respectively and have a wealth of information.

I do have those books, But there isn't a photo of a Wayne 505 done in Sinclair colors for 1954-1959 so I can't see what was used. Any photos of Sinclair pumps did not show a pump plate for that globe I post.I appreciate all your help and advice. WJCurator

The model of the pump is irrelevant.
If you have the 2003 edition the info and picture you're looking for is on the lower left of page 186.

Frank, according to "Sinclair Collectibles" by Scott and Wayne..

HC did mean "Houston Concentrate"; if one asked the R&D and Refinery Personnel . But, if one asked Marketing. HC stood for "High Compression"... (page 15)

According to the book;
A Great Name in Oil - Sinclair the First Fifty years
HC stands for Houston Concentrate, so named as it was a fuel additive developed at their Houston lab. I have seen a picture of an HC globe that does say High Compression on it.

What Bob said, easier to market fuel as High Compression/ more power than as some concentrate, what ever that is..
