I'm scratching my head trying to come up with a fix for a problem...

The top of the door on the opposite side of the hinges is sprung out about...an inch. I want to put a rod or a piece of tubing brazed to the door across the top inside to true up the the door. Any thoughts? Have any of you guys ever fixed this problem and if so, how? Thanks.

Sounds like the door has been TWISTED [warping caused mostly when sandblasting]. Remove from hinges & re-twist.
Always best to re-assemble after blasting & Before painting.

When the door is closed correctly, the bottom of the door is levered up so the top of the door fits inside the trim on the top of the pump.
The 39 is notorious for the problem you are describing not to mention the marks it can make on the door when it is closed and raised into the trim on top. Bent hindges can be a nightmare on that pump too.
I would think to do what DB suggested, to remedy the twist

Dick-- Thanks. What is obvious doesn't always come to mind...in my case. I think I re-twisted two of the damn things. I'll try to fit them up tomorrow and then smooth 'em. Did anyone say Gilbarco 96s with lift off doors? =:> )

Joe-- Thanks. I think I did the deed. Did you get my check for those Wayne 70 parts? I'll get that Veedor-Root in a couple of more weeks. Dave

Got it yesterday
I'm still looking for a box or two big enough for the base.
