Hi Great can-I have never seen a can of this style- all the old 1/2 and 1 gal cans of that era were all square corner soldered seam style- this appears to have rolled or crimped seams with round corners- a much newer style of can -I assume that Gilmore graphics are painted on and not a paper lable- Im not trying to discredit your can in any way- but looks a little strange- possibly one of the west coast collectors have seen this style can- Got an extra Gilmore 5qt can?? thanks don

this gallon can of oil is marked heavy ,(maybe before there were grading standards)
