I found these at my local dump and am wondering what they went to? They measure 42"x11" and don't appear to have gone to a gas pump so I have no idea. One has a hole cut into it for what ever reason. A little soap and water and the nicer one cleaned up well enough for the shop.

any ideas?

What no ideas from all these experts. These had to be attached to something-right?

Patience my friend.....it's been 24 hours! smile

Just because there have been 80 views doesn't mean any of the viewers knew what they are either and just aren't telling you. I looked at the post yesterday, and again today and I have no idea what they were used for. Many people only check the site periodically so I would suggest giving a bit more time.....it turns a lot of the more knowledgeable members off when posters want instant answers, and in turn they will not post info.
Good luck, hopefully someone has an idea.

They look like a quick cover-up for a product and or company change on the pump. But a 42" wide pump? Interesting. Any date on them?

Wonder if they adorned a Chevron pricer out front showing the type of fuel associated with the price. A guess for me.

Back in the day-- since these tin signs weren't worth anything, they were often used for all sorts of things, including patching material. It looks to me like these were cut from a bigger sign and used as patch material to cover a hole somewhere? JM2C
